Production Logos

The universal production logo is used in the action thriller 'The Borne Legacy' - Tony Gilroy 2012. The black background could connote it will be a dark film. The logo shows it is a major production studio and it is also global. This is the main logo used for this company and as it is dark it suggests this company often makes thrillers rather than films for children.
The Warner Bros production logo is used in many thrillers; it is different to the normal one where the sky is bright blue with white clouds that showed a film to be happy. This logo is very dark and the colour blue connotes depression which is common for characters in thrillers. The dark sky and colours suggest it will be a dark and scary film, suitable for the thriller genre. As there are different types of Warner Bros production logos it shows that this company make lots of different films and change their logos to fit the film genre.
The new line production logo is quite simple and uses black and white which are binary oppositions often of good and evil in thrillers. The second one also looks suitable for thrillers as it has an eerie blue glow, the blue connotes depression and the glow also suggests something spiritual which could mean the thriller this logo is used in may be a supernatural one.

The dream works production logos change like the Warner Bros one which also suggests that they do many different types of films. The first one could be used in a comedy or a children’s cartoon as the colours are bright and colourful, the blue sky also connotes it is a happy film. The second logo is very different; it is dark which makes it suitable for a thriller. However the glowing light, pink colours and nebula that seems to be coming down from the right could make it more suitable for a mystical fairy tale film.
The production logo we have decided to use in our thriller opening is Spyglass productions. We have chosen this because the black and white title is binary oppositions of each other which connote good against evil. The blue lake also connotes depression making it suitable for a thriller and our film in particular as we have a scene of flashbacks next to a reservoir and in the film the character Joe commits suicide by throwing himself off a bridge.
